Detectives say after obtaining a warrant and searching the suspect’s home, they found stacks of immigration related documents dating back to 2023. Investigators believe that that could mean there are more victims out there that haven’t come forward. They’re asking anyone who may have been approached to contact police. Now, on your screen here is Irma Aid Ernnandez. Police say she claimed she worked for immigration and offered to fix paperwork, but for a fee.
Investigators say one victim met her near a taco truck off Elbrook while trying to help her husband obtain citizenship. Now, she told KPRC2 she paid about $12,000 after nearly 17 years navigating through this legal process. Detectives say five victims have come forward. So far, similar with similar stories, but with losses nearly $40,000. Investigators believe there may be more.
After obtaining a warrant, detectives arrested Ernnandez and brought her in for questioning. More or less, she denied everything in the interview, even though I have tons of evidence to prove otherwise. U, she’s very arrogant, uh, very think she’s very smart and just really wasn’t worried about anything. Now, detectives say your immigration status does not prevent you from reporting a crime. They’re urging anyone with screenshots, payment records, or messages to come forward and contact police immediately.
