you’ve seen the btu First Alert radar live on news3 for weeks now offering brazes Valley residents more accurate in timely weather forecast the new system was dedicated and formally installed by clima Vision this morning on Texas A&M’s campus news 3’s nocole Marino was there to see the impact this will make on our community for the first time Brian College Station has its own live consistent r radar offering a more detailed timely look at what’s going on in our skies we live in what we call a radar hole or rather we did but now with this new data that we get every couple minutes and that is about 10 times the resolution it it’s truly a game changer before this the best option for tracking local storms was over 60 M away sometimes missing storms lower in the atmosphere Texas A&M University president Mark Welsh says the new radar also opens doors for students is that we are able to provide data from that system to the students who are studying atmospheric sciences meteorology Etc and our programs here it’s a phenomenal opportunity for them Texas A&M says the radar is a game Cher for predicting weather here in the brazes valley a localized features like where it’s going to hail where there’s going to be severe winds and tornado warnings that’s a very important uh Factor Chris good runs clima Vision the company behind the new radar Network he says he’s thrilled to be a part of something that will help so many people it’s obviously a team goal here and what we’re doing here on the campus at Texas A&M is really exciting in College Station Nicole Marino news 3 KBTX is climate Visions exclusive broadcast partner here in the brazis valley you’ll soon see our BTU First Alert radar on kbtx.com and in the KBTX weather app the new system provides high resolution visuals that we weren’t able to see before meaning more time and more details when we prepare for severe weather
