SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARREST FOR DEADLY CONDUCT AFTER SHOTS FIRED WASHINGTON COUNTY TEXAS

MARIJUANA POSSESSION WASHINGTON COUNTY TEXAS

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported four arrests made between Monday, March 30, and Thursday, April 2, 2026, involving charges for deadly conduct, assault, and drug possession. 

Arrest for Deadly Conduct (Shots Fired)

  • Ronald Eugene Hopes III (25, Brenham): Arrested following reports of shots fired in the 2600 block of Old Chappell Hill Road on Thursday night.
    • Evidence: Deputies found spent shell casings and the victim’s vehicle with multiple bullet holes.
    • Charges: Deadly Conduct—Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Carrying of Weapons. 

Arrests for Assault

  • Shayla Denin Hoskins (39, Bryan): Arrested Monday morning after a disturbance in the 12500 block of FM 50 where a man reported being assaulted.
    • Charge: Assault Family/Household Member Impeding Breath/Circulation.
  • Christian Brannon Carlson (45, Carmine): Arrested early Thursday morning after a disturbance in the 12800 block of Schoenemann Road.
    • Evidence: The victim provided video and photographic evidence of injuries; the suspect was reportedly intoxicated and uncooperative.
    • Charge: Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member. 

Arrest for Marijuana Possession

  • Randy Eugene Clayton Sr. (62, Bellville): Arrested Tuesday night following a traffic stop for a defective headlamp in the 2600 block of Highway 36.
    • Evidence: A vehicle search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia; the driver also had an invalid license.
    • Charges: Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz, Driving While License Invalid, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
