And we did not expect to get the update that Miss Tina passed away in a Houston hospital earlier Friday. Let’s backtrack a bit. So April 9th here on this corner of Ennis and Rosewood near Tsu’s campus, literally across the street. Police reported that 18 year old Gregory Warren was shot and killed. Found dead right inside of a car on this corner.

Police have yet to find out who’s responsible for this killing. They say that it’s an active investigation. Meanwhile, his mother flew in from Alaska the next day. We spoke to her here on this block. She was mourning her son’s loss.

She talked about how great of a kid he was.

I’m crushed. I’m crushed that my son got taken from me at 18. He was humble and he was a lover. He just always used to give me hugs.

He was a big lover. He was a big lover. Not a fighter, just a big lover. And I’m crushed. In the days that followed, Miss Tina had dealt with some health issues.

She was starting to get sick and pneumonia, turned into sepsis, and then stress induced heart failure. We got the call on Friday that she had passed away in a Houston hospital. Of course, the family is extremely heartbroken. Especially since knowing that Miss Tina was literally worried sick every day to try to get justice for her son. The last picture that I took of my son was with the baby.

The day before I left to go back to Alaska. He was just the baby was laying on a pillow and he just was looking down. And I got the sweetest picture of my son again. HPD says that it’s still an active investigation. They’ve yet to confirm whether or not they have any strong leads or suspects in custody.
