A new Tesla mega factory is coming to the Houston area. The company plans to spend nearly $200 million to build a manufacturing facility in Berkshire. According to our partners at the Houston Business Journal, the new factory should create around 1500 jobs. The project received the green light from the Waller County Commissioner’s Court earlier this week. Tesler says the plan is to replicate its mega factory in Lathrop, California, which manufactures utility scale batteries it calls mega packs.
