Six others are hurt Tonight: the AP confirming the shooter a 17 year old female student. Here’S where the shooting happened. This is off East Buckeye Road on the city’s east side and there are multiple active scenes at this hour in Madison, We’ve got team coverage.

The Associated Press, as you mentioned, has confirmed that this was a 17 year old female shooter. However, Madison police have not confirmed that at this time Police say they got A911 call of an active shooter at Abundant Life Christian School at 1057. This morning, When they arrived police say they found the shooter inside dead. A teacher and a teenage student were also killed.
Two others are in critical condition: Police Chief Sean Barnes says the shooter is a student and the gunfire was confined to one area of the school Barnes says detectives are still trying to piece together a motive. It is a day that I believe will live in our collective minds for a very, very long time And Barnes says Madison police just completed their regular, active shooter training just two weeks ago.

You can see that very, very heavy police response, The fire trucks right outside of the school, Multiple squad cars. We do know after that active scene. Two people are in the hospital in critical condition.

Aaron Maybin is at one of those hospitals, UW health. I know there was just a line of ambulances out there earlier Aaron Yeah. You know right after that. Shooting paramedics were able to get inside the school, They found the wounded victims and then they rushed them to two area: hospitals,
One of them right behind me here This is UW health. This is a level one trauma center that deals with both adults and children. So we know that at least three shooting victims are at this hospital. Four others are at Saint Mary’s Hospital.
It is all calm right now, But earlier today it was an urgent scene. We even saw an officer out here with a long gun. There were a number of police officers blocking the doors and family members of those shooting victims rushing inside to check on their loved ones. We are working to find out the ages of the victims involved, but again we know that two are in critical condition. Right now.

So it’s shocking. It’S a strange world. We live in Saint Mary’s Hospital is not far from Abundant Life Christian Center, but where we are at UW health, it’s a few miles away. It took us about 20 minutes for us to get here from not far from the school shooting scene, But I can tell you the doctors and nurses here at this level. One trauma center were ready for those wounded patients.
