Well, I want us all to take a good hard look at the poll behind me. This is the SEC preseason baseball poll, which had the Longhorns projected to finish 8th. Yeah, pretty mid-tier right there and that is. Not at all what they did. Texas last night won their first ever outright SEC title.
That’s an impressive feat, but it’s even more impressive when you think about the hardship that Texas has faced. Longhorn’s lost their ace pitcher. They played most of their conference schedule without their best hitter, and they still have multiple guys who are banged up. Jim Floshnagle, he proved why he was a highly celebrated higher when Texas pulled him away from A&M last June.
